Skating on the Point

When: November 28, 2024-January 20, 2025

Where: Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina | 20 Patriots Point Rd, Mount Pleasant

Head over to the Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina for one of the coolest events of the winter season—outdoor ice skating in Charleston! Along with the outdoor ice rink, you can rent igloos and fire pit experiences for $25/hour. There are also s’mores, hot cocoa, and beer. The kids will enjoy the jump castles and games. $12 for a 50-minute skate. Reservations are required. Click here for tickets.

Charleston museum

Museum Mile Month

When: January 1-31, 2025

Where: A one-mile section of Meeting Street

During January, you can enjoy access to participating Museum Mile sites with the purchase of one low ticket price! Museum Mile is a one-mile section of Meeting Street where you will find six museums, four parks, a Revolutionary War powder magazine, and an array of historic churches and public buildings. Adult tickets are $35 and children’s are $10 for 13 different sites. This is an affordable way to learn about Charleston’s rich history and culture! Patriots Point

Pay What you Can Day

When: January 4, 11, 18, 25

Where: Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum | 40 Patriots Point Road Mt Pleasant

On January 4, 11, 18, and 25, visitors to Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum can pay any amount they choose for standard admission, making the museum accessible to all.

Admission includes access to the USS Yorktown, USS Laffey, and the Vietnam Experience. Tickets for “Pay What You Can” must be purchased at the ticket booth.

Where: North Charleston Coliseum | 5001 Coliseum Dr North Charleston

Head up to the North Charleston Coliseum and check out our professional minor-league hockey team! There are several games throughout the month, so there are plenty of opportunities to get together with friends or family to cheer on our local team! Tickets start at $22.

Electric Avenue The 80's MTV Experience

When: January 11, 2025

Where: Charleston Music Hall | 37 John Street Charleston

An Electric Avenue show is a high-energy experience that transports you back to a time of open hearts and open ears—when coming home from school meant spinning your favorite record and letting the music shape your world. It brings back memories of first dates, first cars, prom nights, weekend movies, and mall meetups, all while rediscovering the fashion and individuality of the 80s. 2nd Sunday on King Street

When: Sunday, January 12, 2024 | 12-5 pm

Where: King Street from Queen to Calhoun Street

Every second Sunday of the month from noon until 5 pm, the City of Charleston shuts down King Street from Queen to Calhoun to through traffic. In addition, no cars are allowed to park, giving pedestrians the ability to stroll through the street and visit businesses they might not have known about. There are also artists displaying their work on the street and unique food vendors tempting guests with their fare.

Piano Quintets

When: January 12, 2025 | 3 pm

Where: Dock Street Theatre | 135 Church Street Charleston

Join us for our annual January concert at the Dock Street Theater, featuring returning guest violinist Anthea Kreston and pianist Phillip Bush. This year’s program includes two Romantic-era quintets, starting with a lively arrangement of three Hungarian dances by Czech violinist and composer Franz Drdla (1868-1944) and concluding with Schumann’s renowned Quintet in E-flat Major.

Where: Edmondston-Alston House | 21 East Battery Charleston

Start the weekend with the Cocktail Competition on Friday at the Tides Pavilion Ballroom from 6-9 PM, where Folly Beach’s best mixologists will battle it out to create the ultimate craft cocktails. Stay tuned for more details!

Center Street comes alive for “Savory Saturday,” featuring Folly’s top dishes, live chef demos, and fun competitions like the Hot Dog Eating Contest, Oyster Shucking, and the “One Pot Showdown.” Enjoy live music, 50+ vendors, and a kid-friendly area for a day packed with food, fun, and local flavor.

Tickets are $35 per person and include access to specialty Firefly cocktails, Bloody Marys, and beer. Bring your shucking gear, lawn chairs, and friends for a fun afternoon with oysters served from 12-4 p.m. Tickets are limited and available now on Firefly’s website!
