Spring is the time of year when the air is filled with the intoxicating smell of Carolina Jasmine and the streets are buzzing with excitement as locals and visitors enjoy restaurant patios, take horse and carriage rides, and attend fabulous events! Below is a list of the top spring events in Charleston.

Charleston Wine + Food
When: March 1-5, 2023

Charleston Wine + Food infuses homegrown flavor with top chefs, winemakers, authors, storytellers, artisans, experts, and food enthusiasts from around the globe for an unforgettable five-day event.

First Friday ArtWalk
When: First Friday of every month except July and January
Where: Downtown Charleston u0026 Greater Charleston
Immerse yourself in local art at more than 30 galleries during the Charleston Gallery Association’s Artwalk. Taking place on the first Friday of most months, the Artwalk is a fantastic way to meet new people, discover local artists, and find the perfect art piece for your home. Participants have the ability to create their own Artwalk route using the CGA website’s “Charleston Gallery Association Map.” There is no cost of admission to this event.
Festival of Houses and Gardens
When March 15-April 8, 2023

Step inside the private houses and gardens of some of the city’s most stunning properties, learn about Charleston’s distinctive architecture and history, and celebrate our unique culture.
Annual House and Garden Tours
When: Friday, March 24th, and Saturday, March 25th | 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Where: Various locations
If you want to enjoy some of Charleston’s most beautiful and historic private homes, the Annual House and Garden Tour is the perfect experience. These one-of-a-kind tours will bring you face-to-face with some of the country’s most breathtaking gardens and architecture. Tea and refreshments will be available during and after the tour at the Confederate Home Garden. Tickets cost $60.
Lowcountry Strawberry Festival
When: March 31st u0026 April 1st, 2nd, 6th, 7th, and 8th, 2023
Where: Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens
Take the short commute out to Boone Hall Plantation u0026amp; Gardens and spend the day at the Lowcountry Strawberry Festival! This multi-day event has plenty of activities for the whole family to enjoy. From a strawberry pie eating contest to All-American Pony Rides and a giant slide tower, there is fun for everyone! Festival admission starts at $15 for ages three and up.
Cooper River Bridge Run
When: April 1, 2023
Where: Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge
The Cooper River Bridge Run provides a world-class 10-K foot race. The race promotes continuous physical activity and a healthy lifestyle through education and opportunity.

Charleston Farmers’ Market
When: Saturdays April 8-November 25, 2023
Where: Marion Square-329 Meeting Street
You will find a variety of local produce, plants, herbs, and cut flowers as well as breakfast and lunch vendors, live entertainment, and an assortment of juried arts and crafts from local artisans every Saturday at the Market.

High Water Festival
When: April 15-16, 2023
Where: Waterfront Park
The North Charleston annual two-day music festival is back at Riverfront Park with 22 musical acts on two stages, chef-curated dining experiences, local food trucks, curated cocktails and more.

Chucktown Brewdown: Homebrew Festival
When: April 20, 2023
Where: Fam's Brewing Co.
Beer lovers are invited to come out and taste the beers, chow down some pizza, and enjoy live music. Attendees can also vote for their favorite home brewer to win the People’s Choice Award.

Lowcountry Cajun Festival
When: April 22, 2023
Where: James Island County Park
This ragin’ Cajun Festival features a full day of Zydeco music, authentic Cajun and Creole food, children’s activities, and more! Charleston’s best Cajun restaurants, caterers, and food trucks will cook up a variety of delicious foods.

Charleston Jazz Festival
When: April 20-23, 2023

The 8th Charleston Jazz Festival is a four-day celebration of the Holy City’s jazz heritage. Musical performances feature renowned international headliners Dianne Reeves, Samara Joy, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Cindy Blackman Santana, and Lowcountry favorites.

Charleston Cocktail Week
When: April 24-30, 2023
Where: Greater Charleston area
Experience handcrafted signature cocktails at a discounted price during Charleston Cocktail Week! During this 7-day event, participants have the opportunity to try cocktails from over 30+ participating venues throughout the Charleston area. From The Darling Oyster Bar to Neon Tiger, there’s a spot for everyone on the list! Passes start at $15 per person.

Art Charleston
When: April 26-April 30

The week’s activities begin with the Art of Design, a glorious daytime luncheon and lecture; followed by the annual Gibbes on the Street, a fun-filled, culinary street fair experience featuring Charleston’s best restaurants, Live at the Gibbes, a cocktail event paired with a musical performance, a panel discussion between Artistic Visionaries, and an Artisan Fair, community art fair with local artists and vendors.
Charleston Spring Wine Festival

Where: Johnson Hagood Stadium at The Citadel
